I get something very similar to this. It began maybe 3 - 5 years ago at high school and now 1 year after high school I�m 19 years old and i still experience it. I'm male, about 5'10/130lbs.
Firstly, my symptoms are very occasional and have occurred maybe 2 or 3 times in a year and last 1-2 weeks.
The pain is quite severe, preventing me from taking a full breath and it's hard to find a position to sleep in that doesn't cause so much pain. The feeling I get is a bubbling/squelching feeling exactly as if there was some kind of liquid free around my left lung. I also get the loud popping sound when my heart beats but it depends on which angle im lying down at. Also, this 'bubbling' feeling has been at the bottom-back of my lung, the top-front of my lung and more towards the central part near where my heart is at different times. The pain is where this bubbling and popping is occurring.
It feels and acts exactly like some sort of buildup of a liquid around the lung and I think I have had a very mild bit of stiffness in the neck and possibly in my left arm during this period -I'm probably being a bit paranoid now!
I have also suffered heartburn and a feeling of something lodged in my neck which my doc says is associated with GERD/GORD. It occurs mainly while sitting down/bending over and this happens most often when I�m stressed and drinking a lot of coffee. There might be a link between this and that but it's hard to tell.
Last i had this horrible sensation was about half way through this year toward the end of my mid-semester break at uni. I've seen my doc a few times about it and he has said it's to do with my posture. I have always doubted it but I'm pretty sure that in my case its not heart-related...
