Right Side Chest Pains Too

I've been experiencing take-my-breath-away type chest pains on the left side ever since I can remember.. Though I'm only 18, so it may have started only 6 years ago. Usually it will only happen once every now and then, but recently it has been occuring more frequently, at completely random times, and keeps me from breathing deeply for a couple minutes. I had a heart arhythmia as an infant, and was diagnosed with asthma early on(which apparently is no longer an issue) but I don't know if these are relevant facts. It's definitely not a debilitating problem, I just hope that it will never snowball into a concernable condition. Does anyone have any applicable input? :)
