My mother-in-law has had Glaucoma for several years, and the drops seem to be very effective in keeping down the eye pressure; however, they are rather expensive, and a little difficult for some people to use. She just recently had the surgery, and it seems to be working really well. The thought of surgery on your eyes seems REALLY scary, but it is very simple--only takes a few minutes in the doctors office (you don't have to be put to sleep or anything), and there is only minor discomfort for a short while afterwards (sensitivity to light, stinging). (I guess this is the same type you were talking about--I know several people who have had this procedure, and all agree it is very simple, and best of all--effective). Good luck !
