A 26 year old female has lower left quadrant pain. She has a negative urine test, a negative sonogram, & a negative pelvic exam. She has had the pain for 3 weeks; very severe at times, and location-specific. Walking seems to increase the pain. Lying in a fetal position seems to help. She describes the pain as dull, and occasionally sharp; sometimes radiating towards the pubic/bladder region. She has had no change in bowel function. She has been seen by three physicians, and no one can make a diagnosis. She continues in the same state as described. Can anyone help?
