Over the last 6 months, I have begun to have more and more problems with my legs. At the beginning, I went to my orthopedic specialist and he said I was having pain in my left hip from my sciatic nerve. He prescibed an antinflamatory medication. That was changed to Vioxx after another adverse reaction. I also had problems with Vioxx. I used these drugs only for a few days at a time, to avert reactions. Gradually I noticed that I was experiencing more leg pains both day and night. At night, I had pains that seemed to be related to circulation that I'd never felt before. Now I have begun to notice that when I try to climb even 4 steps, I have pain in my thighs, front and back. It makes me feel that I may not be able to climb them. When I get up from sitting, I have difficulty walking easily. X-rays indicate that there is no bone involvement, so I admit that I am getting concerned that this may be more than just sciatic nerve problems. I have procrastinated at contacting my ortho doctor due to job related time issues. I see that that is a first step, but I also need to know if this problem should be looked at in any other way beside the orthopedic. Any ideas? Thanks.
