I know what you mean. Since mine started on 01/23/03 I have had several flare ups, some of them on a pain scale of 1 to 10 was WAY off the scale. My doctor yesterday told me there are some cases of EXTREME acid reflux! These are not good for your health. Friday they are going to do a endoscope where they stick a cam down your throat and into the stomach. The meds she started me on have seemed to help quite a bit, but not all the way yet. I'm told it takes a while especially in extreme cases. You also have to be very careful in what you eat and drink, you'd be surprised at some of the things you need to stay away from completely in the beginning and can only have in moderation afterwards. I have a fact sheet with list of food and beverages to stay away from. If you like I could scan it and e-mail to you.
