Recently Ihave noticed a strange flashing light with my left eye. I can describe this phenomenon. Everyone has noticed the flashing light on the ceiling/wall when the sun or a light catch the crystal of your watch. This is what I have been seeing. At first I was sure it was just a reflection off my watch crystal. But last night I put my watch in a drawer and stood in my completely dark bedroom. Still I saw the light. This morning, in my car, in broad daylight, I noticed a similar phenomenon. It seems to be only in the left eye and, in particular, comes from the outside edge of the eye. I wear glasses and have since age 13. I am now 58. No particular problems in my ophthalmic history and of course I will refer this to my doctor in my next exam.
