I experienced almost the exact symtoms you are describing. After two trips into the Emergency room my doctor did a byopsy of my esophogus and found I had pretty bad acid reflux which caused erosive esophogitis but what made it worse was I also have a hiatel hernia which when irritated by the stomach acid inflames and traps acid in my esophgus which in turn gives me a burning sensation in my chest which causes pain like styptoms that mimic those of having a heart attack. To top that off I started having panic attacks. Remedy for me doctor put me on protonix which shut down my acid pumps in my stomach so I would not produce as much acid, this gave my esophogus time to heal, it took about 6 months of learning how to deal with panic attacks and how to sooth the burning sensation in my chest what worked for me was drinking a yoplait smoothie yougart. Now I just kinda watch what I eat (try and stay away from Cafiene I guess that not to good when you are having panic attacks it just makes them worse.
