If the pain is on the right side of abdomen on near the naval (front of bosy basically) it could be several things, all requiring test ;( If the pain is on your actual SIDE (above hip) on the right side, its most likely gallstones. The pain usually presents after a meal (especially fatty) but more severe cases have pain without a meal, and most likely in the evening/night. It also tends to wrap around from your side toward your back on the right side, below and behind your armpit, and can also present with a pain on upper back right shoulder in addition. If the pain goes on for several hours and is not related to food this is serious as gallbladder can perforate. Pain attacks should only last approx 15 minutes and related to a recent meal, this is common, any worse will need attention. You can improve by paying attention to eating little fat, or even protein for a few days and instead eating more than your usual daily supply of veggies-often short periods of poor diet bring on the pain, which affects a lot of people occasionally, most of their adult life but is managable. The pain can also be related to the liver and pancreas, due to poor diet as well. The second, if you're willing to try, is a coffee enema. The caffeine works its way up and expands the blocked passages that have larger stones sitting in their way, allowing them to pass without discomfort. Enemas of any kind should be with filtered pure water with no chemical treatment, boiled first, and fairly weak amount of plain coffee to brew (french press is great, no need to run thru machine, which could add impurities). Pharmacies offer small rubber bulb type reusable enemas, and once cooled should be held for a few minutes before released. Can do twice daily but this is not a long term solution. Best bet is improving diet. If you really aren't willing to see a doctor and the pain is occasional and brief, high fiber (food, not supplements) in the form of vegetables and eating a decent sized meal if you've been fasting (can also bring on gallbladder attacks) is a starting point to relieve yourself.
