I am a relatively healthy 41yr female. Slightly elevated cholesteral, normal pb, 25lbs overweight. For the past couple of years I'll have these attacks periodically - starts out as jaw pain on the right side, shortly after becomes severe back pain right behind my heart and then chest pain around my sternum. When it happens I ask my husband to pound the center of my back and it feels a little better. Sitting feels the worse, standing and moving relieves it somehwat. I hadn't had one for 2 years and had an attack in November. I saw my doctor in Dec. and asked her about it. She ran a chest x-ray and EKG and found nothing out of the ordinary. I had the worst attack yet this past saturday evening - jaw, back, chest pain, lightheaded, nauseous - kind of like before you get the flu. The wierdest thing is that it never happens during the day or during excercise. Only in the evening (about 1/2 hour after eating). I took motrin to see if it would help and it did after 1/2 hour but it might have let up without it given time.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. I don't want to run the battery of tests again only for them to come out normal cuz it only happens in the evening and I've had this recurring for about 5 years.

thanks
