3 years ago at age 46 i had a heart attack: a stint was inserted into one of my arteries. On Dec 9th, 2005 I had to have a Heart Cath done due to a Stress Test showing that I had another blockage: during this procedure my heart stopped and a heart thump was done, along with 5 shocks from the "Paddles" to bring me back. Two weeks prior to this I begin to have severe back pain, I thought it was due to my heart condition. After the heart cath procedure I ask the Cardiologist about this and he thought it wasn't heart related. While at the hospital I stopped having the pain: a few days after returning home the back pain returned. I thought it was the mattress on my bed and so I had it replaced. Two weeks have gone by with no pain, and then this morning I awake with severe back pain again> The pain seems to center in the middle of my back, along the front of my chest all along my ribs, and even my stomach and sides hurt, also it seems to take my breath away. Can medication make your back hurt? Coreq? My primary care doctor thinks it might be arthritis, but I have never experienced this type of pain before. Send your comments and advice. Thanks!
