I have had sharp stabbing pains on the left side of my chest since i was 14, although they are not so bad now, now I,m 36, it hurts more when i breath in and goes away after about 5-10 secs, they happen when I am relaxed AND busy, and on waking, as far as medication goes i took a low dose contraceptive pill between ages 16-21. I'd love to know what causes the pain, I can't afford to have fancy tests and live in hope that its not serious! Suz
