I would not wait if I were you. if a doctor does not find anything wrong when you come in for an exam. you may see about getting a doctor to issue a holter monitor or protable ekg recorder. in a situation where the problem comes up only occationally you can carry the small monitor with you so when the pain returns you can put it on your chest and record what is happening right at that moment. then a doctor can review the recording later. if nothing shows up then you and your doctor may then at least be able to rule out any heart related problems.
