I had the same problems you are having with the burning in the left chest area. I thought I had a bad case of heart burn and it would not go away. I then went to the ER after not being able to stand the burning any longer. They told me that I had a prior heart attack but was not sure as to when it occured. They did a cardiac cath and it showed spasms. So if I were you I would get a second opinion. Hope this helps.
