I am a 50 year old female who has had mild chest discomfort a couple of times. During one episode, the moment I took a deep breath, the pain was immedately gone but came back as I exhaled. I have been to the doctor, an ekg was normal. I'm having a stress test in about a week. I have a family history of heart problems but I do not smoke, am not overweight, normal to lower blood pressure, slightly high cholesterol with a hdl of 90. It's a scary thing especially when I've had these episodes it has not been times of exertion. Also it has not been after I ate. I just can't believe this could be the "unstable" type of angina. Can you have unstable angina without have "stable" angina first? I'd apprecate any comments.
