For the past month, I've been experiencing a "flutter" in my chest, usually right in the center. I've had my heart skip a beat before and this doesn't feel as intense as that...more rapid and light. I don't get lightheaded or fatigued, but the adrenaline flows and I get slightly panicky. Doesn't seem to happen during exercise and my BP is 130/80 and resting HR is in upper 60's. I always feel for a pulse immediately after the flutter and it seems strong and slow...just like normal. This has been happening more and more frequently and often several times per day now. How likely is this to be heart-related? I have an appt to see the Dr in 2 weeks.
One other note...I have occasional, very short pains on either side of my chest which are separate from the flutters. These seem to be alleviated by eating and the flutters seems to be much less frequent when I'm active or eating and never wake me from sleep. Am I worrying too much over something that may in fact be gastric in nature?
