Hi, I am 23 year old female. 2 months back, a heart murmur was found in me and was diagnosed as MVP through echo. But the doctor also told me that I am having a straight back syndrome. The doctor didnt tell me anything about my condition or the extent of prolapsing or any blood leakage. Since I was not having any external symptoms like chest pain, dizziness or so, he asked me to forget the whole episode and continue with my life. This puzzled me a bit. But during the last 2 or 3 weeks, I am experiancing chest pains in the middle of my chest, sometimes extending like some electric shock towards the left side. It is only for a very short instant and not strong enough to put me to bed.

Will there be any pain if you apply pressure to some part of your chest using your hands ?

Now I am confused whether it has to do anything with the MVP. What should I do now ? Do I need to monitor myself and then go to the doctor only if it get too much for me to handle it ? Anyone is having any such experiance like me ?

Thanks.
