I have a similar"mass", but the doctor told me that it was just fat tissue. As a person with a pre-med education I stongly disagree with her assesment-I have never heard of fat manifesting itself in such a manner. If your mother's doctor does not feel that this mass is a cyst, perhaps (s)he should test the contents of the mass to determine what the mass definitively is...It is so frustrating to have such a vague diagnosis from a doctor. Remember, your mother always has the right to a second opinion. If I learn more about my own I'll be sure to update you and I hope that you will do the same.
